“Well my feet have just about touched the ground after our wedding last week and I wanted to send you and email to say just how much me, Pete and literally everyone at the wedding enjoyed Kickout.

Not only were they highly professional and had arrived, set up, sound checked in good time - they even managed to get us to cut the cake on time, which considering how tipsy and excitable we were by 8pm was no mean feet - but the sound they produced, oh man the sound! They were literally one of the best bands I have ever heard live and I spent half of the first set thinking ‘are these guys really our wedding band??’

Right from the first dance they were exceptional. Having asked three guitarists and a drummer to play a song - Walk of Life - where the original has a big organ/synth sound, I wasn’t sure how it would work, but oh my, they absolutely nailed it! I feel bad saying it was better than the original, but it really was that brilliant!

You could hear this ripple of murmuring move across the dance floor as people realised how good they were. ‘God, the band are good aren’t they?’ ‘Wow have you heard the band?’ ‘Where did you find them?’

They managed to keep the momentum going right through both of their sets and the dance floor was packed throughout with all ages. I definitely at one point saw both my 13 month old nephew and 78 year old Auntie having a good boogie!

We were really impressed with the quality of their musicianship. Daniel’s vocals and guitar playing were something else (I could see my brother having ‘guitar envy’ as he looked on wistfully!) Individually with Andrew on the drums and then base and electric guitar, whenever they took solos there was lots of whooping and cheering at the skill and sound, but then together they gelled so well and produced a lovely rich, warm sound which had us all dancing away.

We can’t thank them enough for making our wedding reception so much fun. We hope that they enjoyed themselves and we’d like to apologise for the slightly over enthusiastic dancing that saw some of our guests getting a bit too close to their speakers at one point…

I’ve attached a pic of them and I don’t know whether it’s of any use to you, but one of our friends filmed the first dance on his phone. If you excuse our ‘dancing’ at the start, it shows everyone filling the dance floor and just how good the guys sounded. (I’ll send it to you on google drive as the file is too big to email)

“Hello, Phoebe, I just wanted to say a very huge thank you for the amazing band and band members that came to Daniela's graduation. First of all they helped set up the gazebo (more about the importance of this later!). Then they were very complimentary about the song they learned so well for my husband to sing. They played the entire playlist we requested and they were really professional. At one point they were playing to just 7 of us and into the second set just still a small group of 40. But everyone loved the music and it really added to a brilliant day. They let my husband join in for a couple of songs as well, which was really kind. I can't believe the weather held out for us as well. We left Bristol on Friday and it was bucketing down! Please let the band know that, after they left and we all had an early dinner it started raining at about 8:00pm and..... thank goodness for that gazebo they helped set up!! Because all the older ones ran inside and all the younger ones relocated the benches and got together under the gazebo. For the next four hours they had such a great time and then it was someones birthday at midnight so we had another celebration then as well. I know the band were not there, but if there was no gazebo everyone would have just left at the start of he rainfall. The band were a huge part of getting everyone settled in for the duration, enjoying and staying put. They literally set the stage for what turned out to be the most amazing event for everyone. There were a number of the young ones who came and told me it was the best party they had ever been to and that when they think about their own graduation day, what they will remember is Daniela's party!!!!! Please thank the band for me and I passed your card around to everyone and hope they get in touch with you for their own events. All the best.”

“Oh my goodness we CANNOT say enough good words about Sega and the Boombox! All of our guests are still raving about how fantastic they were!

Calling Sega the greatest wedding band of all time would be doing them a disservice. They're not a wedding band - they're not a Bruno-Mars-crooning, smooth-singing bunch of cheese merchants. These guys bring the party like nobody else. We had them at our wedding a few weeks ago and there is not one person I have hung out with since then that hasn't told me how awesome the band were. Obviously, that you grew up with the soundtrack of the 90s is kind of a prerequisite for Sega but if you did, then they are simply mind-blowingly brilliant. The quality of the musicians, the stunning vocals, the pleasingly 90s clothing references, and the raw, unadulterated energy of them all make Sega one of the best live acts I have ever seen.

We were worried about them being a bit niche (i.e. our parents' generation wouldn't dance) but we were wrong. Firstly, the parents did get involved (Nana Joan smashing it up to 50 Cent, In da Club) but they also enjoyed standing back and watching a group of 30-year-old teenagers have an awesome time.

If you're on the fence about them - go see them play live (they play a lot) and they will remove any doubts. We went to see them when I was ill - I was up and dancing within 2 songs and didn't stop.
Crowdsurfing to Rage's 'Killing in the Name of' will be a memory I treasure for ever...

He took our music suggestions and created the most epic playlist of songs! His transitions and mixing ability between songs was amazing and the care and attention he went to throughout the night to ensure a party atmosphere was just just great. For us the music choices / DJ make or break a wedding reception and although we knew the songs we wanted without Mike it wouldn't have come off the way it did!
