Would You Have Your Reception In An Inflatable Marquee?

Friday 5th February 2016

We’re all so used to the sight of wedding bands, guests and newlyweds bopping the night away in a traditional big white marquee – but have you ever considered having your reception in an inflatable one?

Probably not. However, now you can, thanks to a cunning entrepreneur who has decided to start his own event hire company, providing inflatable marquees that come fully equipped with designer interiors and LED lights – the whole shebang.

According to the Hull Daily Mail, Giles Waterland – the mastermind behind Waterland Event Hire – said he first had the idea after working delivering loos to private functions and weddings, and noticed that every person had the same white marquees that just weren’t that exciting.

“I thought there was a real opportunity here to do something new and different,” he said.

Now, he has four different marquees on offer, most notably the Cube which is 225sq m and can either fit 200 people sat down, or 400 people standing.

What an opportunity to be a wedding entertainer in an inflatable marquee... So much fun! It’ll be interesting to see just how many brides and grooms decide to go down this road for their own receptions. We wonder what the acoustics would be like in a big blow-up tent. We think they’d probably be quite good.

What do you think? Do you reckon you’d go down the traditional route and have a normal marquee or go for the inflatable kind? It probably all comes down to price – if the blow-up one can help you save a few pennies, it might be a good option.
