International Party Bands - Our Guide to Booking Overseas Wedding & Party Bands

The brief spell of decent weather has got us feeling all international here at Tailored Towers. So much so that we thought we’d give this week’s blog a distinctly jet setting flavour, too – turning our attention to international party bands!
Maybe you’re in the midst of planning a destination wedding – an awesome way to tie the knot that more and more people are indulging in! A recent report in The Independent suggests that destination weddings are increasing 14% year on year – that’s a big upturn in numbers over the past few years.
Many couples don’t want to take any chances on their perfect wedding entertainment, and as such they choose to book a UK based band and fly them out too!
As well as wedding bookings, international party bands are a big favourite with corporate entertainment bookers looking for a party band that is truly world class.
Well here at Tailored, we proudly represent some of Europe’s most in demand international party bands, with acts flying out for events in France, Italy, Portugal, Spain…and as far flung as Qatar, Singapore and event Kazakhstan. So, we thought we’d give you the low down on exactly what you need to consider (as well as suggesting a few our favourites for good measure!).
Let’s start with the basics.
How does booking an international party band work?
First off, you need to choose your band! (more on that later). We can help you find an act with plenty of experience in international events if you contact our team directly. Once you’ve found the perfect act for your big international event, there’s a few logistical points you need to keep in mind.
Travel, Accommodation & Food!
The band will typically fly out from their local airport on the morning of the event (or the night before if this makes your set up easier!). Accommodation, transfers, food and drink are typically supplied by the client – in return you get a world class party band at your big event!
What about the band’s gear?
Bands will usually fly out with guitars and ‘breakables’ (think cymbals etc). We can help you to source suppliers of all the other relevant equipment the band will need to provide a first-class evening of entertainment, including a full tech spec. Again, this is typically paid for by the client.
The band will usually stay for the night of your event, flying back the next morning.
Okay, now that we’ve spelled out the basics, what about we get into the fun part? Here’s four bands who have plenty of experience performing to international events, all of which are very different in their style and sound.
Soul & Motown party bands are a great way to bring a spritz of style to a big international event, and as such they tend to be one of the most popular forms of international party band. OJ’s Soul Band are the UK’s leading Soul & Motown band, and one of our most in-demand bands for overseas shows. London-based Festival Nights are one of the UK’s biggest function bands. However, they’re often taking their unique brand of festival style wedding band entertainment abroad, too!
