The average cost of getting married is on the rise in the UK, so it's not surprising that many people want to know the price of their wedding band in Sussex.
Research from Sheilas' Wheels shows the typical wedding costs more than £18,000, with most couples spending in the region of £682 for their live band, DJ and other entertainment.
However, every wedding is unique and placing an exact figure on the cost of entertainment is very difficult. There are a huge number of factors that you'll need to take into account before choosing your favourite band, all of which can affect the final bill.
For example, will you be hiring a band, duo or solo artist? Bands are often more expensive, but they can provide a wider range of musical accompaniments. Soloists or duos may be cheaper, although they may have a narrower play set and could struggle to get everyone on the dance floor.
Similarly, you'll have to consider the experience and skills of the entertainers. Seasoned veterans, some of whom may have performed in front of huge crowds, are likely to command a higher price tag than bands who are new to the scene.
Finally, the length of time the band will play and whether you have any special requests could have an impact on the final cost. A long reception where the band are responsible for announcements and learning to play your first dance is likely to bump up the price.
