Following the untimely death of David Bowie on January 10th, Nielsen Music has found that sales of his music back catalogue have increased by more than 5,000 per cent, with combined album and song sales for the week ending on January 14th reaching 682,000.
Bowie died just two days after his latest album Blackstar was released, with the new record making up 174,000 of all sales for the tracking week. It also came in at number one on the Billboard 200 and the Billboard Top Album Sales.
