Bowie US Record Sales Up Over 5,000%!

Friday 22nd January 2016

Following the untimely death of David Bowie  on January 10th, Nielsen Music has found that sales of his music back catalogue have increased by more than 5,000 per cent, with combined album and song sales for the week ending on January 14th reaching 682,000.

Bowie died just two days after his latest album Blackstar was released, with the new record making up 174,000 of all sales for the tracking week. It also came in at number one on the Billboard 200 and the Billboard Top Album Sales.

If you're looking into Surrey corporate entertainment at the moment, why not see if your choice of band or singer has any David Bowie in their repertoire? If you want to get people up and dancing on the dance floor all night, it makes sense to pick as many popular tunes as you can - and in light of recent events, you can basically guarantee that people will want to hear at least one Bowie song on the night.

But which one to choose? Well, a recent Sky Data Snap Poll revealed that Life On Mars is in fact the UK's favourite Bowie song, followed by Let's Dance, Starman, Heroes and Space Oddity. If you're looking for a crowd pleaser to include, it looks like Life On Mars could be the way to go.
