Wedding season is well and truly upon us, folks!
If your summer diary is anything like ours at the moment, it’s absolutely packed with weddings right now. The UK’s lifting of lockdown restrictions has meant that summer 2021 is a bumper year for wedding celebrations!
And if your own big day is in the pipeline for 2022 and beyond, all these weddings you’re attending this summer have probably got you considering ways to make your big day really stand out. After all, we all want a genuinely unique wedding day, don’t we?
Here at Tailored Entertainment, we’re firm believers that there are two things that can really make your wedding day feel unique. The setting, and the wedding band.

So for this blog, we thought we’d give you the low down on some truly out-of-this-world wedding venues – venues that feel truly unique. Venues that will leave your guest utterly spellbound. Plus, we thought we’d pair each venue with the perfect wedding bands for hire. Cause we’re nice like that.

AYNHOE PARK, OXFORDSHIRE
We’ve been supplying wedding entertainment for over 15 years, and we’ve never come across a wedding venue quite like Aynhoe Park. Originally built in 1615, this remarkable stately home in the Oxfordshire countryside may look traditional from the outside, but the interior is anything but. The owner has combined traditional English opulence with the contemporary, the strange and the surreal – and have created something mind-bendingly brilliant in the process. Round one corner you’ll find stuffed leopards set between Greek statuettes. Round another, you’ll find a room filled with disco balls. This place truly has to be seen to be believed.
FOR THE BAND – GATSBY’S JUKEBOX
For a venue as grand as this, you want a truly spectacular band to back it up. We thought Gatsby’s Jukebox would make the perfect complement to Aynhoe’s stunningly surreal contrasts – a 1920s speakeasy act playing modern hit in a vintage style. Plus, they’re super glamorous, and this venue needs a band that backs that up!
THE CENTRE FOR ALTERNATIVE TECHNOLOGY, SNOWDONIA
Nestled in the foothills of Snowden is The Centre For Alternative Technology; one of the country’s most progressive charities dedicated to tackling the climate emergency through real, substantive change. Overlooking the sumptuous views of Dulas Valley, the venue itself is a truly stunning example of sustainable architecture in action. It’s 180 capacity venue space and 24 on-site rooms are built with eco-friendly materials and powered via biomass fuels and solar power. The onsite vegetarian café can supply delicious food for you and your guests, and to top it all off – it’s got it’s own funicular!
FOR THE BAND – WONDERFOLK
This beautiful spot needs a wedding band with a beautiful sound, and we can’t think of anyone better than Wonderfolk. This Liverpool wedding band offer gorgeous folk reimagining’s of a tonne of your favourite pop songs, bringing a beautifully homespun feel to your wedding reception. They’ll make a perfect fit for this stunning venue!
PYNES HOUSE, DEVON
On the face of it, you might think a Victorian-style house in the countryside is a bit of a ten-a-penny choice for a list of unique wedding venues. But we chose Pynes House for a distinct reason. There’s lots of beautiful manor house wedding locations to choose from around the UK, many of them very good wedding venues. But Pynes House is another level altogether. Said to be Jane Austen’s inspiration for Barton Park in ‘Sense & Sensibility’, this utterly charming house in the West Devon hills offers something that so many wedding venues of its kind struggle to provide – it feels totally authentic. Step through its doors and you’ll feel as if you’ve stepped back in time. You half expect to see counts and countesses descending the staircases.
THE BAND – FESTIVAL NIGHTS
It feels only fair to feature the band that put this incredible venue on our radar, the fabulous Festival Nights. This festival style wedding band are one of the country’s most popular wedding bands for hire, with hundreds of 5-star testimonials to their name. If you want them for your wedding, be sure to get in quick!
CAMP & FURNACE, LIVERPOOL
For something completely different, how about an industrial city centre wedding venue? Set right in the heart of Liverpool’s bustling Baltic Quarter, Camp & Furnace is probably best known as an award-winning bar, restaurant, and live music venue. It’s wedding packages are brilliantly assembled, combining stark city centre design with on-trend wedding chic. It’s a huge space too, making it perfect for large scale wedding parties.
THE BAND – JUNO
For a venue like this, you want a band that’s simultaneously contemporary and cool, and SERIOUSLY flashy. Step forward, Juno – a Liverpool wedding band with some serious musical chops and one hell of a line-up of pro musicians. This properly fun, premium pop act carry the kind of sound and style to rival any major touring artist.
POLHAWN FORT, CORNWALL
Set on the Rame Peninsular, Polhawn Fort is a Napoleonic era fort – and it’s truly one of a kind. Set into the rock of the hillside, this legitimately incredible wedding venue boasts its own private beachfront, as well as simply jaw dropping views of the Cornish coastline. You’ll descend granite spiral staircases into rooms once used to hold ballistics, now laid out as a beautiful space for your wedding reception. This is coastal wedding chic at its absolute best.
THE BAND – THE WANDERLAND BAND
Polhawn Fort is set over multiple levels, making it difficult for full sized, traditional bands to manage. Instead, a roaming acoustic act would be perfect. With no need for amplifiers or speakers, roaming acts wander around your venue, playing tunes directly to your guests. It’s immersive, high energy, and a serious talking point for you and your guests – and The Wanderland Band are one of the country’s best!
THE BAY TREE HOTEL, BURFORD
Situated in the chocolate-box Cotswold village of Burford, The Bay Tree Hotel specialises in exclusive ‘house party style’ weddings. What does this mean? It means your guests stay on site with you in one of the hotel’s 21 rooms, and you all enjoy a weekend’s exclusive use of this stunning 16th century coaching inn. The thing that always impresses us the most about this beautifully unique wedding venue is the use of the space. It’s filled with wonderfully cosy nooks and higgledy-piggledy hallways and yet the party rooms still feel spacious and light. Combine all this with the beautiful ‘secret garden’ style outdoor space and you’ve got a pretty sensational wedding venue on your hands.
THE BAND – BRIGHTSIDE
With a venue like The Bay Tree, you want to factor in space into the equation – with not a huge amount of it to spare, a tight little three piece band would be a perfect fit. Like Brightside, one of the South’s favourite indie rock wedding bands for hire. They mix contemporary indie tunes with classic singalongs to keep the dancefloor full all night!
HIDDEN VALLEY, GODALMING
Absolute seclusion is almost an impossibility when you’re less than 30 miles from London, but Hidden Valley feels like a secret garden paradise, that you’ve got all to yourself. As the name suggests, the venue sits at the foot of a valley – cutting it off from the surrounding countryside and leaving you with a beautifully picturesque location perfect for tepee style weddings and camping for all your guests afterwards. This venue is run by the brilliant Fiesta Fields team, so you know your wedding day is in safe hands!
THE BAND – WILDWOOD SKY
For a venue as magical as this, you want a band to match. Wildwood Sky are a rootsy country-style wedding band with genuine folk music credentials. They’re sure you put a skip in the step of you and your guests, and set the scene at Hidden Valley perfectly. Plus, they finish off the night with an indie rock showstopper, so you’ll guarantee a packed dance floor, too.
