“The band were great. The music was really good and they created a great atmosphere. We had so many compliments about them and their music and I would definitely recommend them. Jackson was really friendly and again created a great atmosphere.
Tailored Entertainment also were very easy to deal with. Very responsive and helpful. Really excellent experience.”Nicola - Wedding, Kachette, London
“Sega & the boombox were fantastic!!!! Thank you and the others at tailored entertainment for coordinating and liaising with the band. They were one of the highlights of the day and we will not hesitate to recommend them to others!”Adam & Lee - Wedding, St Stephens Rosslyn Hill, London
“They were amazing, everyone loved them! Great interaction with the crowd. I can’t say enough good things about them!”Wedding - Kachette, Nicola Martin
“Oh my goodness we CANNOT say enough good words about Sega and the Boombox! All of our guests are still raving about how fantastic they were!
Calling Sega the greatest wedding band of all time would be doing them a disservice. They're not a wedding band - they're not a Bruno-Mars-crooning, smooth-singing bunch of cheese merchants. These guys bring the party like nobody else. We had them at our wedding a few weeks ago and there is not one person I have hung out with since then that hasn't told me how awesome the band were. Obviously, that you grew up with the soundtrack of the 90s is kind of a prerequisite for Sega but if you did, then they are simply mind-blowingly brilliant. The quality of the musicians, the stunning vocals, the pleasingly 90s clothing references, and the raw, unadulterated energy of them all make Sega one of the best live acts I have ever seen.
We were worried about them being a bit niche (i.e. our parents' generation wouldn't dance) but we were wrong. Firstly, the parents did get involved (Nana Joan smashing it up to 50 Cent, In da Club) but they also enjoyed standing back and watching a group of 30-year-old teenagers have an awesome time.
If you're on the fence about them - go see them play live (they play a lot) and they will remove any doubts. We went to see them when I was ill - I was up and dancing within 2 songs and didn't stop.
Crowdsurfing to Rage's 'Killing in the Name of' will be a memory I treasure for ever...
Thank you guys for making our wedding day just THE BEST. xx”Claire Hance - Wedding, Furnace Pond Cottage, West Sussex
“We just wanted to email to extend our gratitude Sega and the Boombox for their contribution to Air Charter Service’s summer party on Saturday. It was a lovely day, and that was a result of the great activities and entertainment that was provided by all the suppliers who attended. The weather was glorious, but we know these high temperatures make work more tiring, and as a result everybody’s effort and help was greatly appreciated. The music provided by Sega and the Boombox was perfect for the mood of the day, with many people commenting on how great their sets were.”Air Charter Service - Summer Party, Ham Polo Club, Surrey
“Sega and the Boombox brought our new Guildhall graduates all of the tunes necessary to take them back to childhood just before they went off into the real world to be adults! Just when you think you've heard all of the bangers, they'll give you another one... Top quality band!”Rachel - Graduation Ball, London
I really want to have a great party with everyone on the dance floor - are you the right band for that? Absolutely! We have been performing at weddings and events for several years and have an infectious live show that guarantees a packed dance floor and a party that you and your guests will remember for years to come! Our repertoire features the biggest classic and current chart hits, so there's certainly something for everyone.
Do you take requests? We are happy to perform one special request for you - for weddings this is usually the first dance. You can also let us know your top 10 preferences from the repertoire, as well as send up to 30 requests for the disco - so you can be sure to hear all your favourites on the evening.
How long do you take to set-up? Up to 90 minutes. If you are organising a wedding or event where the evening reception is in the same room as your meal, we often arrive to set-up while the room is turned around - we can have background music playing within around 30 minutes of load in.
What time do you play? At a time to suit your event, standard prices are for 2 hours of live music, any time between 7pm and midnight.
How long do you play for? We perform 2 x 60-minute live sets (or 3 x 40 minutes) in the evening and also provide a pre-mixed disco (tailored to your tastes) before and after live sets, so your whole night of entertainment is covered in one booking.
Do you have your own PA and lighting? Yes – all included in the price, we also travel with a professional sound engineer. You won't have to hire any additional equipment in.
What is the website guide price based on? The published guide price is based on our 6-piece line-up performing at a venue within 30 miles of our base in London. We charge travel costs for venues further than 30 miles, and if your venue is more than a 2 hours 30 mins drive home, we charge a bit extra so we can book accommodation. For an accurate quote please contact us with your event date and venue details.
Our venue has a noise limiter, can you work with that? Yes, we regularly work at venues with noise limiters. We are happy to contact the venue in advance of the event to make sure we have all the required information to enable us to plan accordingly.
Do you have Public Liability Insurance and PAT tested equipment? Yes.
Will you perform our first dance? Yes, as long as we have two weeks' notice we will learn the first dance of your choice.
How much space do you require? We have played in some very small spaces, but ideally a minimum of around 2.5m x 5m.
How much power do you require? 2 x 13-amp sockets is fine for our system.
Do I need to provide food/drinks? Ideally soft drinks and a hot meal or buffet. However, this is certainly not a deal breaker so if you can’t provide this, just let us know in advance and we’ll bring food & drink with us.
Can we see you play live before booking? As a professional function band our bookings tend to be weddings and private events that unfortunately we are unable to invite guests to. Our videos are a very accurate insight into our look and sound, and we'd also encourage you to check out our testimonials page to see what previous clients have said about their experience with the band.
“Cannot recommend this band enough!! Seen them twice... they stole the show both times. Absolutely nailed it on the night!! Can't speak highly enough of Tailored Ents. Thoroughly professional!”Gary - Birthday Party, Essex
