“We wanted to share our experience with Light Years, and in particular Thom, following our wedding at No42 By GuestHouse. We hired the band for the whole day - ceremony, reception drinks, and three 40 minute sets in the evening, as well as DJ’ing in between the live performances…. they were just incredible from start to finish. For the ceremony, two of the artists performed (keys, bass, and vocals), creating a beautiful and intimate atmosphere. They were incredibly flexible, splitting their hour (live lounge set) into two 30 minute sets - one for the ceremony and the other for the rooftop reception drinks. Later in the evening, the full band joined, and the energy they brought completely transformed the space into exactly the kind of party we had hoped for. Thom and the band went above and beyond by learning two songs for us, our aisle walk and first dance. One of which was complimentary. They also adapted their set seamlessly to match the vibe in the room, keeping the energy exactly where it needed to be throughout the night. Thom himself was outstanding. He was at the venue from midday through to 1AM, and his enthusiasm never dropped once. His energy, professionalism, and passion were evident all day and night, and it made a huge difference to the overall atmosphere. One of the standout moments was how Thom and the band worked with the singing waiters we had also hired. We chose to incorporate them into our first dance, and the execution was perfect. As the moment unfolded, one of the waiters “fell” towards the end of the dance, and Thom cut the music at exactly the right time for dramatic effect whilst saying ‘are you alright mate’, completely selling the moment before the performance kicked off. It was flawless and created such a memorable surprise for us and our guests. We always believed that music makes a wedding, and Light Years proved that completely. We woke up the next morning with zero regrets, both agreeing it truly was one of the best days of our lives and the band played a huge part in that. The number of guests who commented on how amazing they were says everything. We would 100% recommend booking Light Years for any wedding or event. They absolutely made the day and we’ll be booking them again for our 10 year anniversary party.”
