About

Having been championed by BBC 6 Music Tom Robinson 'lovely songs - man, does he have a big voice', Gordon is an exceptionally talented Chester-based wedding singer.

Previously signed to Justice brother records and BBC new talent songwriter of the year finalist, Gordon has his own unique sound although he lists artists like Jeff Buckley, Bon Iver, Damien Rice, Ryan Adams and Eddie Vedder as influences. A multi-instrumentalist, Gordon writes, records and performs all of his music with a feel and emotional heft all his own.

He has worked with some industry greats, including Tony Platt (Bob Marley and AC/DC) along with prestigious shows at famous London venues such as The Troubadour and the Barfly.

For your wedding or event, Gordon will be self-contained with PA system and background music between sets if required.

Gordon is based in Chester, and is able to perform UK wide.

FAQ

I am really keen to have some live music during my wedding ceremony - are you able to perform during the ceremony?
Absolutely! I regularly perform during wedding ceremonies and drinks receptions. I like to arrive and set up in time for when your guests start to arrive, I can then welcome them with some live music and perform when required during your ceremony. I can then re-set and perform during your drinks reception if required.

I can also perform during wedding breakfasts.

Do you take requests?
I am happy to perform one special request for you - for weddings this is usually a song during the ceremony. You can also let us know your top 10 preferences from the repertoire - so you can be sure to hear all your favourites on the day.

How long do you take to set-up?
30 minutes.

What time do you play?
At a time to suit your event, standard prices are for 2 hours of live music, to be performed as required over a 4 hour period.

What is your guide price based on?
My guide price is based on me performing at a venue within 30 miles of my base in Chester. I charge travel costs for venues further than 30 miles, and if your venue is more than a 2 hours 30 mins drive home, I charge a bit extra so I can book accommodation.

Do you have your own equipment?
Yes – I travel self-contained with amplification.

Our venue has a noise limiter, can you work with that?
Yes, my sound works fine with noise limiters.

Do you have Public Liability Insurance and PAT tested equipment?
Yes.

How much space do you require?
I have played in some very small spaces, but ideally a minimum of around 1.5m x 3m.

How much power do you require?
1 x 13-amp sockets is fine for our system.

Do I need to provide food/drinks?
Soft drinks are always much appreciated & for longer days a meal would be great but this is not essential.

Can we see you play live before booking?
As a professional function musician, my bookings tend to be weddings and private events that unfortunately I am unable to invite guests to. My audio is a very accurate insight into my sound, and we'd also encourage you to check out my testimonials to see what previous clients have said about their experience.
