There’s hardly a day that goes past without a creative couple reinventing their big day – whether that be the vows, the first dance or the wedding entertainment. However, we caught a new take on wedding videography that really captured the magic of one couple’s ceremony and party.
Instead of shelling out for a professional videographer, Tenessee Addie and Marshall simply strapped a GoPro camera to the back of their dog Ryder, who then filmed the whole day from his unique perspective.
While we’re sure there were plenty of outtakes of the useful pooch eating dropped canapes, the resulting video, which has been viewed four million times on YouTube so far, is actually something pretty special.
It definitely helped make the video all the more beautiful that the ceremony took place on the top of Roan Mountain in two feet of ‘snowy wonder’ as Marshall describes it, but the most touching scenes are from the wedding breakfast.
As Ryder wanders around the home, he sees a houseful of happy people really celebrating the marriage, as well as the even happier couple enjoying themselves to their fullest. We suppose it’s a lot easier to relax in front of a camera when it’s strapped to your beloved dog rather than in the hands of a stranger.
While Ryder the dog may be a bit of an amateur behind the lens, we think we could see this catching on for those couples who want to include their best friend in the big day itself, and you’re sure to always be in for a surprise with what footage gets returned. If you’re not sure your dog is ready to make an editorial debut quite yet though, be sure to get a real videographer in as well, just in case!
