Here at Tailored Entertainment, we are proud to represent the UK's finest live wedding bands and function bands to hire and we are even more excited to announce we that have another incredible band joining us!
The Full House! Welcome to Tailored Entertainment, boys! In the words of our dearly departed Cilla, what's your name and where do you come from?
Haha! Well Cilla, We are 'The Full House' and we are from London (crowd goes mental!!!!) South London specifically. James is South East (Cockney Herbert), Yiannis is South West and Alex is straight up South London.
How long have you been playing together as a band?
We have been a covers band for about 4 years now. We started as a ski resort/apres band as it was the perfect way to combine all the best things is life - live music, skiing and partying! Then the snow melted and we all had to take it a bit more seriously! And now here we are with the elite of Tailored music - a real function band!
What are your favourite songs to play live?
That's a hard one to say, it all depends on the crowd. Some love the oldies, some love the new stuff and others like the obscure ones like 'fresh prince' or 'hot stepper'!! As long as our audiences are having fun then we are too. Once we see what is working best then we just follow the mood to keep the dance floor buzzing. Our biggest priority for any gig, be it a wedding party or corporate event is to make sure that everyone dances and has fun!
What's the best gig you've ever played as a band?
We played a gig once in Colorado. The venue was in the mountains and the view we had from the stage looked like it had been painted. It was absolutely incredible. All the people that were there watching danced from the moment we started to the very last note of the set. Everyone was so nice to us and kept buying us drinks after, and there were a lot of comments about our British accents - which is always nice! The altitude was about 8500 feet above sea level, so there was this sense of euphoria and lightheadedness while we played - it all felt a little surreal, to be honest! That being said, every gig feels amazing when we get in our zone and we get to bounce off the crowd. That's the beauty of music - it's the gift that keeps on giving!
Do you have any claims to fame?
James once kept the longest cricket ball throw at his school for about 5 years (ahh yeah!), Yiannis is actually a part time stunt double for David Schwimmer and Example and Alex did all the voice over work for the 'Wildlings' in Game of Thrones ("You know nothing, Jon Snow") - he's originally from Leeds. So yeah, we are all pretty famous!
If you weren't musicians, what would you be?
Well Yiannis happens to be an AMAZING cook, so he'd probably be a chef. James would probably work in a fruit market ("two for a pound!") and Alex would be a football pundit, as that's almost all he thinks about other than music and food!
Who are your musical idols?
Dave Grohl is definitely up there. Apart from being in two legendary bands, and playing different instruments in each, he also has the reputation of being one of the coolest and nicest guys in the business. That's a role model for you right there.
Bob Marley is also up there, just because of the longevity of his music and how good it makes anyone feel when they hear him. Amazing songwriter and artist, and again seemed so grounded throughout his life.
To be honest, this could last a while - there's too many! Everyone in Led Zeppelin, The Hendrix Experience, Ray Charles, Bob Dylan, The Beatles etc...
Do you have any musical guilty secrets?!
Haha we all have some of them, don't we?! I think each of us had a phase of Greenday and Blink 182! Yiannis also loved Metallica when he was growing up. And I think we all had a soft spot for Limp Bizkit. Just standard teenage stuff!
What were the first records you ever bought?
Actually, two of us had the same ones: 'What's the story morning glory', Oasis and 'Californication', The Red Hot Chilli Peppers. The third was 'The Black Album', Metallica.
What do you like doing in your spare time?
You know what, the last few months we have all been getting into Table Tennis! Alex managed to get a table from 'freecycle' and it's the perfect game to play with your friends in the Summer with a couple of beers, and requires almost zero energy or effort - perfect for musicians!
Yiannis and Alex are both passionate cooks (as previously mentioned) and they both enjoy nothing more than slow cooking food or making these crazy dishes that take hours to prepare! James is still struggling to open a can of beans.
Despite our playful nature, actually all of us are very proactive people and always try to stay busy and focussed. Most of our free time in taken up trying to learn new skills and different instruments, write music and play in different bands. So actually spare time is very rare.
